Re: 3/5 ST GDT
Love the line for Jordan Hicks. 1 IP, no hits, no walks and 4 Ks thanks to one of the Ks coming on a pitch that got away from the catcher allowing the runner to reach first.

Re: 3/5 ST GDT
Did gamecast have a stroke, or did Hicks really strike out four batters in the 6th?

Did Hicks really strike out 4 in 1.0 innings pitched? Dropped third strike and batter advanced or something?

Runner got on first after striking out on what was ruled a wild pitch according to the play log.Phansett wrote:Did Hicks really strike out 4 in 1.0 innings pitched? Dropped third strike and batter advanced or something?

Re: 3/5 ST GDT
Just realized from some of the comments here that the game is televised today and YouTube TV has been recording it for me so I am watching Hicks pitch the 6th and the kid looked good.
Even though two guys reached base on the error and wild pitch/strike 3, the batters didn't look at all comfortable against him and most didn't look like they had a chance and they knew it based on their body language during the AB. It looked like Segura's knees were buckling as he flinched backwards on breaking balls that were hitting the outside of the strike zone! Mixing up those breaking pitches with 100+ heat, if Hicks can improve his control, he'll be almost untouchable.
And on the wild pitch, Pena's got to block that instead of just trying to pick it on the backhand.
