I have a bunch of reasons why I’d rather not die between now and June. But I’d be lying if I said watching Rick Ankiel get back on the mound wasn’t up there.

I just hope that if he makes it back, it’s on his own merits and not just to make a feel-good story.

When Brett Cecil is one of the lefty options out of the pen, even 80-year-old Jim Kaat would have a shot of going north with the club.

If you've got good mechanics, anything is possible.sighyoung wrote:When Brett Cecil is one of the lefty options out of the pen, even 80-year-old Jim Kaat would have a shot of going north with the club.

As long as he figures out the difference between his hat and his glove; he has a legit shot.

I once saw Jim Kaat walking outside of Busch II after a nationally broadcast game, and his mechanics were perfect. (please read to the tune of Werewolves of London).doe_boy wrote:If you've got good mechanics, anything is possible.sighyoung wrote:When Brett Cecil is one of the lefty options out of the pen, even 80-year-old Jim Kaat would have a shot of going north with the club.
