I think I read it’s equivalent to 20M
For the time he's under contract. But realistically he probably won't be ready to start until July, basically halfway through the season.
Theoretically you're paying him for the month of October though too.

Kudos to the Braves for taking a chance. Unlike other teams.
I guess. I don’t view Keuchel as a high risk, high reward kind of guy. He could have certainly helped the Cards. Just a little steep for his actual production for half a season.

Yes, you're right. It's much better for the Cardinals to save the cash and keep trotting Michael Wacha out there every fifth day.

That’s not exactly what I said. What I am getting at is that he is really signing for more $/production than he was expected to get over the offseason. And he doesn’t really have an elite ceiling to justify a premium.
He would have helped. I cannot stress that enough. But at some point someone wins the bidding. The Cardinals didn’t.

The Cards are in the sweet part of the win curve where marginal upgrades could be the difference between sitting out or playing in October. Especially if that is an upgrade is to the team's weakest area. They definitely should've tried harder to sign him.
Goal isn't to win a WS. It's to build a .500 team and hope for variance going your way. Problem is, it's going the other way and not bouncing in Mo's favor.
