Before today's game Josh Donaldson was at 4.8 rWAR and 4.1 fWAR.

I had never seen it before either and the funny part is that a friend was just telling me about it Friday on the way down to the lake because he had just seen it for the first time and suddenly it pops up here!

The Cubs placed Craig Kimbrel on the IL in September. I mean whats the point of this? You have expanded rosters so if you want to bring him someone up in his place they still have to be on the 40 man roster and Kimbrel isn't going on the 60 day IL so its not like he's freeing up a roster spot for them on the 40 man. And the minor league season is over so its not he can go on a rehab assignment either.

Frees up a spot for the playoff roster if needed.

hmm...possibly the end of LaRussa's tenure there as well then; since I think Dom brought him on. Now the only question is what ballclub hires Dombrowski next? Nationals?
