The secretary where I work used to be a hair stylist, and so she does "haircut day" once every other month and as compensation we buy her lunch.

My mom is opening up a spa and salon in o'fallon (look for the shameless promotional thread closer to the grand opening in a few weeks) and I went in when the hair stylists were doing training, and they were bored and I hadn't had a haircut in almost 2 months, and whala free haircut for me. Plus the hair stylist is pretty attractive, and she gave me a shampoo. I was gonna give her a $10 tip, but I didn't have any cash. I think she might have gotten some money from the cash drawer as a tip, but I forgot to make sure that she got it.

Either way, I havn't spent money on a haircut since 2005.

Being the owner's son of a spa and salon does have its advantages ;)

Fire him and go with an ass kickin comb over. Maybe a rat tail, too. Cool.

What in the world would ever motivate you to do that?

Addendum: do not attempt to shave yourself after numerous alcoholic beverages, either. You might get a funny idea.

Not with barber clippers but I have drank and barbered. I am still growing out my "bangs" from last winter. I saw it in a magazine, I'd had a glass or 6 of wine...

I've been cutting my own hair for 7 years. It's great.

I haven't paid for a haircut in probably 8 years. My old roommate just started practicing w/ some clippers and got fairly good w/ them. He cuts my hair for free. I have to work around his schedule to get it done but I figure the grand or so I've saved over the course of that time is well worth it.

Actually alot of times I'll grill up some burgers and bring a 6 pack over for payment.

Hubby also cuts his own hair.

Not a very politically correct statement but I haven't had a haircut I've been truly happy with since my gay stylist quit the business. Anyone know a gay stylist in the St. Louis area

Seemed like the best idea ever at the time.
Don't they all?

I've thought about cutting my own hair with clippers, but my wife doesn't like the idea of the buzz look. They use that buzzer 2/3 of the way up, so it's not like it's that much more to go.
