Rave: Quality TV shows

Post by UK »

I've never been a big sitcom type of person and my fav. show on TV right now (I've mentioned before) is The First 48, but since I've seen the episodes and have not been able to get into Crime 360 which follows it, I found a new quality show.

Although it isn't for everyone, I highly recommend Gangland on the History Channel.

I love Gangland as well as the First 48. But really I'm a sucker for any true crime show.

30 Rock (in addition to hearting the devil, I heart Tina Fey)
How I Met Your Mother (dislike the premise, but it's an excellent show)
New Yankee Workshop (yep)
Friday Night Lights (whenever it's on the air again)

I have strange tastes.

I heart Norm too, Popeye.

And I like the true crime shows, too. I'll have to check out Gangland, Crime 360 and The First 48.

PBS American Experience is about as quality as it can get. It's the anti-American Idol.

I also love 30 Rock and How I Met Your Mother. Add:

My Name is Earl
The Office (yes, I'm sorry it's not the most awesomest British version that so many love, but get over it already! I enjoy the US version and I don't feel guilty, so there!)
Deadliest Catch
Dirty Jobs
Cold Case Files (when they finally have some new episodes)
Jon & Kate Plus 8 (I'm addicted to this show....can't stop watching!)

What is the premise? I've happened upon that show a couple of times and got sucked into that episode, but I don't really know about these people and how they came to be together.

I also like Big Bang Theory which is on the same night.

I don't really make time for many shows anymore, I really don't know when most of the shows I watch are regularly on, so if I happen to catch it all the better.

I did watch 30 Rock last week and was disappointed to find out it was the season finale already. Strike-shortened? I guess I can catch up on that over the summer.

The premise is that he's sitting down and telling his kids the story of how he met their mother. This story is now 3 years long and includes many, many details that I wouldn't exactly tell my kids about my ex-girlfriends. Plus the main dude is a bit too sappy romantic for my tastes.

Other than that though, the show is pretty good.
