Disagree. It made me notice the posts about the answers from the interview and the new server. I don't know why, but I never notice these announcements. I think I only noticed this one spatially, because something seemed weird out of the corner of my eye and I glanced up to see what changed and saw this thread. Of course, it took me a day or two, but at least I found it. Adding that 3rd line apparently was enough to fire a neuron in my brain that something was changed, although i managed to ignore that firing for a good day or two.Arthur Dent wrote:Least effective announcement ever?
I wonder how many announcements like the server thing I've never seen before.

Making something an announcement or a sticky may be the best way to ensure it gets ignored. It gets put up there where people aren't looking.

The announcement threads have about the same to better view to post ratio as BT.

Speaking personally, I think AD is right. I'm not even sure I knew there was an announcement section to be honest. Maybe it's just me, but I just never noticed.
I'm not sure what a better place to put things would be, or maybe I'm the only one not noticing stuff and I will now. Keep in mind, I'm the type of person where my wife will paint a room in the house and play a game to see how long it takes me to notice. I know at least once she had to come out and tell me after X days.
So maybe this is just me ... but really never noticed this area before.

I agree. New users should have some decorum.
