My gf was accepted to UChicago for grad school... I may be joining you bums over there.

What's housing like in the UChicago area? A 1br in the city here is about $1500-$2000, are we looking at the same range?

Anyone know much about the area around the school?

Unless you have a very high income, I don't recommend living downtown. I loved my time in Wicker Park, although I think Cronos didn't. Bucktown, Logan Square, and Rogers Park are cheaper and further out, and also still 'hip'. Maybe Cronos has a link to the thread he made before he moved up, it had a lot of good recommendations.

Good luck! Summer in Chicago was among the best times of my life.
