Ugh. Doing it when your team is playing well is no less douchey or tacky.AdmiralKird wrote:Yeah that loss was pretty bad. Seriously, why go to the games if you're going to do that...JL21 wrote:Ugh. Doing it when your team is playing well is no less douchey or tacky.AdmiralKird wrote:Yeah that loss was pretty bad. I love me some cynicism and douchiness. But I draw the line at "HAHAHA RAPE IS HILARIOUS!"longhornbaseball wrote:Because ours is a generation of cynical, little douche bags. Duh.

Let me get this straight: they're paying for a ticket to support a team that had rapists on it, start a chant against the team, and then get kicked out...am I the only one that thinks this is weird?JL21 wrote:I love me some cynicism and douchiness. I think we're not all in agreement as to what 'No means go!' means.TimeForGuinness wrote:Let me get this straight: they're paying for a ticket to support a team that had rapists on it, start a chant against the team, and then get kicked out...am I the only one that thinks this is weird?JL21 wrote:I love me some cynicism and douchiness. I don't know the story but I doubt this was a serious protest against the team. Probably drunken shenanigans after watching your team blow it. I don't support making fun of rape, but I've done and said stupid things while drunk before (I'm sure you guys have too). That's probably what this was.TimeForGuinness wrote:Let me get this straight: they're paying for a ticket to support a team that had rapists on it, start a chant against the team, and then get kicked out...am I the only one that thinks this is weird?

How is campus life dealing with all of this? Is there much of an outcry? Or will it be forgotten in a few weeks?longhornbaseball wrote:I don't know the story but I doubt this was a serious protest against the team. Re: Holy [expletive] SLU
It happened a year ago and nobody really said anything then. It took a long time until SLU had a hearing (likely to not interfere with any legal process that could come from it, but to my understanding, the girl dropped charges).TimeForGuinness wrote:How is campus life dealing with all of this? The story itself is very different based on who you ask. I've heard some say they two players raped here. I've heard where it was alcohol being involved so the girl went to the police the next day. I've also heard that they just happened to be at the location where the alleged raping took place and they were easy targets. So nobody really has any idea what happened.
Personally I wasn't going to attend any games this year unless SLU treated the players like any other student. I think they did, so I've gone to a few games already.
