Dixon puts up good numbers but he makes some really bad decisions sometimes. CMA hasn't played Pressey hardly at all tonight.
It is reassuring that it's taken an absurd shooting performance by Georgetown and some really boneheaded plays by Missouri to cause this.

Missouri shot better than Georgetown, overall. Both teams shot remarkably well. Missouri couldn't rebound.

No, they did not. Also, Georgetown shot much better from 3, and did not miss a single free throw.

That's all it would've taken, was a free throw at any point in time going the other way. Or maybe a whistle when English got a rebound and then knocked to the ground out of bounds with 4 seconds left. What an extremely bitter feeling this game left.

++ Or that blatant travel actually getting called on that first half three pointer.

Or the 3 pointer clearly after the shot clock expired or a million other things. Denmon was out of his mind so that kind of balances GTown's hot shooting. Ratliffe is a nice scoring option in the post but he's softer than I hoped...more of a finesse player. We still need a tough inside presence. Moore has shown flashes that he could be that guy but he hardly got a chance to play tonight.

We were down 18 at one point and came back to take the lead. Very impressive.

We were up 4 with the ball with 21 seconds to play and eventually lost. Not so impressive. This team has too much experience to blow that game. Free throws are killing us.

Does Kim English have Jimmy McKinney disease? He doesn't really seem to have gotten much better over his career.

Up until the final few seconds of the game (when the game had already been decided), Missouri had out-shot Georgetown. And Missouri made more free throws than Georgetown.

Missouri shot 31 free throws. It's hard to make a case that they didn't get plenty of calls.

"Yeah! Mizzou didn't shoot 32 threes so they actually went to the basket and got to the foul line, so quit your whining when a rebounder gets shoved to the ground after icing the game with a defensive board."

Blown calls are blown calls regardless of how many fouls a team has. It's not the single reason the team lost, but it makes for an extremely frustrating end to the game since it feels it was taken from you.

Yeah, I get that. Calls at the end of the game are the ones that we tend to remember. But most of the time the "blown calls" even out.

Georgetown impressed the heck out of me. They rebound the ball really well, and they shoot from the perimeter extremely well. That's a dangerous combination. I know it's frustrating today, but I think Missouri fans will look back on this one as not such a bad loss when all is said and done. Georgetown is going to win a ton of games. Missouri will, too.

I often see fans say, "If they'd called this in the first half, we would have won."

That's not how it works. A different score may change the way things are played, on both sides, and just changes variables.

Mizzou was the higher ranked team, at home, was down 18 at one point, and when it went to OT it was even. They didn't get it done, but it was a game that could have went either way. Feel good, Mizzou is relevant at basketball again, much to my dismay.
