MLB limits number of uniforms
MLB instituted a rule where teams now hold just four uniform choices. In one case, one team had to discard a signature uniform of theirs. The Seattle Mariners removed their recognizable grey road uniform in favor of their navy blue.

“The Seattle Mariners have scrapped their road grey uniforms for 2023 due to Nike and MLB’s new cap of four uniforms per team,” Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net tweeted. “Seattle will instead wear their navy blue tops for road games.”

It's quite weird that they would make a rule limiting the amount of different jerseys sold. But you never see any fans buying grey jerseys, so it would make sense if you had to choose you would go with the navy blue jersey over the grey.

Just wait until a colorblind baserunner says the coach threw up the stop sign.

The St. Louis Cardinals are planning to shake up their wardrobe in 2024. The Cardinals will no longer use red-dominant jerseys in spring training and plan to introduce a City Connect uniform later this year. The Cardinals will scrap their red spring training jerseys, which have been used during home and road preseason games over the last several years. Uni-Watch states the Cardinals will use their standard home white and road gray jerseys during Grapefruit League play rather than red ones.

A spokesperson from the St. Louis Cardinals confirmed with FOX 2 that those aforementioned changes and more are coming with the team’s uniform lineup.

Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III first hinted to fans during the 2023 Winter Warm-Up that the City Connect jerseys would arrive in 2024.

The Cardinals are following a relatively new MLB rule dubbed as “four plus one,” which allows for two home and road jerseys, but also another alternative concept. With that in mind, the pure red spring training uniforms appear to be a thing of the past, unless MLB changes its guidelines.
I always kind of liked the Spring Training jerseys.

{If it's just a spring training and batting practice jersey why does it have to be part of their 4 + 1 uniform options? I just hope the City Connect uniform looks really cool since that can be either really great or terrible.

It's still a uniform I guess. The whole rule on how many uniforms you can have is ignorant anyway. What is this, Red China?
