Pick the one-team MLB Hall of Famers:

https://www.sporcle.com/games/MiniDitka ... -of-famers

Pretty easy quiz. Even the ones I didn't know I was able to guess because of who was remaining.

Assuming this is real pitchers and not 'teammates who once threw a pitch':

3 of 5 (Not saying which are correct)

Carp
Kershaw

Bill DeWitt said that there has always been a future Hall of Famer on the Cardinals roster since 1909. So - what's the least number of Hall of Famers you can use to compile that list? Yes, you can use Yadi and Albert since DeWitt called them 'future Hall of Famers'.

Here's a guess at the list without looking at starts and ends...

1. Yadier Molina

2. Albert Pujols

3. Lee Smith - does he get you all the way from 2000 to 1996? Can't remember.
EDIT - I'm an idiot.
[SHOW]
Tony LaRussa
4. Ozzie Smith

5. Keith Hernandez - Does he get you all the way to Gibson? Joe Torre might be needed here. I assume you can use Torre for this?

6. Bob Gibson

7. Stan Musial

8. Dizzy Dean

9. ?? - Somebody needed here?

10. Rogers Hornsby

11. ?? - Hornsby was a rookie in 1915. So we need at least one more.

BONUS QUESTIONS:
- What if you just used players and those who went into the Hall as players?
- Any team with a list that starts earlier than 1909?
- Any team with a shorter list to get to 1909 or earlier?

For #9
Frankie Frisch between Dean and Hornsby
(Bottomly and Hafey as well- though I cannot say without looking for sure)
Branch Rickey if we count front office types

11 Miller Huggins he was a player in those early years before Hornsby. He was a HOF manager. I was sure he was before Hornsby, but I dont know the dates without looking.

FYI-
For #5 I didn't think hernandez was in the HOF.
And you need someone between Dean and Musial.
Johnny Mize?

For #5, Hernandez isn't in the Hall, but Bruce Sutter ('81) and Ted Simmons ('68-'80) are (you could also go with Whitey).

Between #7 and #8, add Johnny Mize.

For #9, add Frankie Frisch.

For #11, MIller Huggins came to town in 1910 and played through 1916.

Jim Kaat would also help bridge the gap to Ozzie (1980-1983).
