A twelve-year career for Jay and a World Series ring in 2011. Pretty impressive for a chief justice.

A 12 year career where he made 30 million over the course of those 12 years is good for a guy who was mostly a 4th outfielder.

Let's see Amy Coney Barrett top that. I don't think she can hit the curve.

He was a starter worthy for a good chunk of that career. A role player the last 1/3 of it.

Jon Jay was such a good leadoff option. OBP machine. And for whatever reason, crushed dongs against the Brewers constantly.

Jay hit .300 in two different full seasons. At his peak (2.9 WAR) he was perfectly cromulent.

Kind of feels like Nootbaar can be Jay. Same K/BB ratio. Lefty. Speed. Lite hitting but gets on base at a high clip.

Blue Jays released OF Dexter Fowler.

Fowler requested and was granted his release by Toronto after appearing in just three games at Triple-A Buffalo this season. The 36-year-old veteran outfielder appeared in just seven games last year with the Angels before tearing the ACL in his left knee. It's possible he's able to find another opportunity, but will likely have to settle for another minor league contract.

Crummy way for Dex to finish things off. I hope he catches on somewhere else.
