He actually pretty good stats at Round Rock. But I guess they didn't think his stats would translate to the majors and was just taking up playing time for some of their younger prospects.

I'll always have love for Marp. But it's time to hang them up.

Carpenter could always join Matt Adams and Pete Kozma on the Kansas City Monarchs independent team.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑May 19 22, 4:50 pmI'll always have love for Marp. But it's time to hang them up.

He really doesn’t need to. .379 OBP and .613 slugging? 138 wRC+. He should be able to get a bench job somewhere if he wants.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑May 19 22, 4:50 pmI'll always have love for Marp. But it's time to hang them up.

At some point in life you just don't want to play for the Pirates.Big Amoco Sign wrote: ↑May 19 22, 9:55 pmHe really doesn’t need to. .379 OBP and .613 slugging? 138 wRC+. Re: Former Cardinals Watch
Yankees signed INF Matt Carpenter to a one-year contract.
Carpenter gets a guaranteed major league deal from New York exactly one week after being released from the Triple-A affiliate of the Rangers. He'll join the Yanks' active roster ahead of Thursday night's series opener at Tampa Bay. The former three-time NL All-Star slashed just .169/.305/.275 with three home runs in 130 games (249 plate appearances) for the Cardinals last season.
