I'll 2nd the kind words about McKay. We were on the same flight once, the morning after the 2011 championship rally. I went over and introduced myself in the gate area before the flight, and I'm not one to bother too many famous people. He was very kind, and we talked for 3-5 minutes. We later exchanged waves while on the flight.

McGwire was on the same flight with his 2 younger boys. He tried to keep a lot profile, but when you're that big and sitting in row 2, it's kind of hard to do.

Angels released OF Jon Jay.

The Angels would have had to pay Jay a $100,000 retention bonus Saturday, which is why they made the move now. Jay is just 2-for-29 at the plate this spring and the 36-year-old hasn't hit much at all for a few years.

It's kinda crazy that Jon Jay was still on a roster.

I know. Kind of like Matt Carpenter still being on a roster.

Jon Jay played in almost 1,200 career games and earned over $30mil. Even if he doesn't catch on to another team, that is a solid career.

Yeah, but he could have won the powerball and made a lot more money without all that work. Dumbass.
