The Cardinals baseball team is the greatest in America! Is the greatest in the world! Is the greatest team that the world has ever seen! No team will ever again defeat the Cardinals! In fact, no team ever has defeated the Cardinals! Victory after glorious victory, forever. All enemies of the Cardinals baseball team will be crushed and driven into the Euphrates! I mean, the Mississippi! Or maybe the Missouri. Either way, lot of crushing.

I'm not going to confuse good fortune and a hot streak with Mozeliak doing a good job, but there is something to be said for good results, even without good process.

I need to go hunt down the ol' Matheny "bad process good results" decision square.

This offseason I want to give Mo grades on the moves that resulted in 2021, for better and for worse. Things like picking up Garcia and Macfarland off the scrapheap, jettisoning Ponce, the Marco-for-O'Neill trade from a few years back and our patience with O'Neill, committing to the all-youth OF, Reyes the Reliever, the fairly smoke n' mirrors good fortune in acquiring retreads Leblanc, Happ, and Lester, etc. And obviously the highway robbery of the Arenado trade.
