I think that, given our general run of success for the last 15 years, we can probably assume competence when making hires. Until we start whiffing on all our draft picks, anyway.

He founded OnDeck Digital, a company that uses video technology to evaluate baseball players. It's being used by eleven teams in MLB. I wonder if this hire brings all the technology and information from the company and makes it proprietary to the Cardinals.

I always liked Flores...I'll be interested to see what he brings to the table as Scouting Director.
As Fanforever pointed out he is a year older than Choate; but looks fifteen years younger. That is either good for him or bad for Choate.

hmmm...coincidence that his effective hire date is when rosters expand? I think not!

What I remember Randy Flores for.

Called on in relief of Suppan after a leadoff walk in the 7th. Asked to face lefty-RIGHTY-lefty, got all three, whiffed RHB David Wright. In a tie game with the pennant on the line.
Good times.

I remember that game very well...is it odd that I can remember the 2006 NLCS like it was yesterday but I have no memory whatsoever of the 2013 World Series?Vidor wrote:What I remember Randy Flores for.
