Easy to forget, but if I were a player coming up I would be in awe of sharing the field with him.

The most amazing thing to me, is even as he’s sucked lately, he’s never struck out 100 times in a season. Ever.

That’s crazy for a slugger in this age.

Mike Trout for example, only has 1 season which he HASN’T struck out over 100 times (and was at 90 that 1 year).
Totally agree with you!

I think he still can tell whether a pitch is ball or strike, the only problem is that his body can't do what he wants to do and fail to get a base hit as a result.

His walk rate has declined a lot but his strikeout rate has only increased a little bit. I feel like that's an indication that pitchers don't fear him as much and will pound the zone more rather than trying to nibble around the edges or giving him those "unintentional intentional walks"

The hit was his 3,256th, breaking a tie with Eddie Murray for 13th on the all-time list.

So Pujols now has an .866 OPS against LH pitching this season. Is it possible that he's useful if used strictly as a platoon starter against left handers, and pinch hitting against LHP?

With a two-run homer in the Dodgers' loss to the Giants on Saturday, Albert Pujols tied Babe Ruth for fourth-most extra-base hits in Major League history with 1,356. The homer was also No. 669 in Pujols' career.

Another homer today. He has a .942 OPS against LHP on the year. It’s hard to carry a roster spot just for a hitter to face lefties, but hard to deny they’re using him the right way.
