Loved ol' Puma when he was a Cardinal. Hated to see him at the plate when he was with the Astros.

On this date in 1957, the Cardinals and Reds made the Curt Flood trade nobody talks about -- the one that sent him to St. Louis. At the time, nobody thought very much of the deal:

On this date in 1980, Whitey Herzog began to remake the Cardinals roster. The first item on his list? Signing Darrell Porter to become the new catcher.

Looking ahead to the 1985 season, Whitey Herzog knew he needed pitching. On this date in 1984, the Cardinals traded outfielder George Hendrick to the Pirates in a deal that brought left-hander John Tudor to St. Louis:

Brian Harper might have been a Cardinal hero in the 1985 World Series.Remembirds wrote: ↑December 12 21, 7:34 amLooking ahead to the 1985 season, Whitey Herzog knew he needed pitching.
