Zack Gahagan and Brandon Riley are playing in the CWS still for North Carolina.
looks like sabino and kreuter both signed
• The Cardinals finalized deals for their 35th and 36th round selections Wednesday, signing third basemen Liam Sabino, of Pittsburgh, and Cole Kreuter, of UC-Irvine, respectively. The Cardinals have signed 36 of their 41 draft picks. Three of their draft picks — Texas Tech’s Steve Gingery (fourth round), North Carolina’s Brandon Riley (14th round), and UNC’s Zack Gahagan (39th round) — remain active in the College World Series and cannot sign until eliminated.
• The Cardinals also signed undrafted free agents Jacob Sylvester, a righthanded pitcher from Mid-America Nazarene, and Joe Friday Jr., a catcher from Virginia Tech.

Thank you sir. The expectation is that all three of them will sign once the CWS is over. Leaving us without signing the three players I most would've liked to sign after the 10th round (of course).

It'll be interesting to see how much they give Gingery and how much they gave Vargas. I know FIU fans thought he was going to get to school. If they gave Gingery slot they'd be about $10,600 over their pool, and they'll undoubtedly have to go over slot for him. They have $387,820 to spend above the slot allotment at this time. Meaning they can give Gingery up to $834,720 and not lose a draft pick.

Anything they gave Vargas over $125,000 (if any) comes out of that amount as well. There is still a chance Gingery signs for like $500,000 and then they would have up to $460,000 to throw at Soularie (likely would get it done), Calilao (likely would get it done), or Hill (no chance).

Roger Goodell.

Seriously, Manfred is probably the second best commissioner of MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL, and he's much closer to the last place guy than the first.

UNC and Texas Tech are both eliminated now, so guess Gingery (4th round-Texas Tech), and Riley (14th round-UNC) and Gahagan (39th round-UNC) are all eligible to sign...

It appears the Royals are seriously considering Luke Heimlich after the College World Series.

Seems weird considering Dayton Moore's big anti-porn spiel from a year ago but here we are.

Gingery signs for $825,000. That's a lot of jack for a kid coming off of TJ, but they must've liked who he was before the injury. He's a changeup specialist, but I give his fastball at least average with a chance to play up due to the changeup.

Slot was $446,900 and that brings the Cards within $19,720 of their 5% overage max.

You can say a lot of things about the Cardinals, but cheap in the draft is not one of them.

anyone know why griffin roberts hasn't pitched yet? looks like he signed back on 6/11 and assigned to the GCL cards, but no appearances yet? (couldn't find anything looking online)

He was a closer last year at Georgia Tech who became a starter this year and saw a HUGE increase in innings. Generally, teams will rest those college pitchers who saw a big increase in workload. I believe they're just being careful with him.
