I’ll admit I only really know what I’m reading, but this looks like a great 5 round draft for the cards.
Is phins still around?

Grade: A
The Cardinals used their first three picks to swing from the heels for ceiling. That meant they chose prep third baseman Jordan Walker (a large lad with big power potential); prep shortstop Masyn Winn (a dynamite athlete with near-elite bat speed); and prep right-hander Markevian "Tink" Hence (a smaller pitcher with a fast arm and the ability to spin the ball). Each has the tools to become a high-grade contributor. That makes them worth the risk given where they were picked.

Plus we drafted Levi Three Finger Prater. That’s the most Oklahoma story possible, btw.

Re: 2020 MLB Draft Talk
Knowing nothing about nothing and having never heard of any of these kids until the last couple days, seems like a solid strategy to take upside with only 5 rounds. If the draft goes back to a similar format next year with 40 rounds, seems like there will be a plethora of high floor low ceiling players to choose from since they weren't at a premium this year. Actually, from a cursory glance, it appears that most teams took the approach of going big then supplementing those big picks with easy sign guys to ensure they could afford the big picks. Which...makes sense.
