MLB said Friday's postponement allows enough time for the Cardinals to do additional testing and conduct contact tracing. A source told ESPN's Jesse Rogers that if what is happening with the Cardinals had occurred before the Marlins' outbreak, Friday's game at Miller Park would still be played.

That's comforting. They really had no plan for this, did they.

Sounds like the plan was if 1 or 2 guys tested positive, to just keep playing.

But the Marlins outbreak complicated things and forced MLB to be more proactive in how to deal with the random positive test.

Btw, it's pretty funny/nonsensical that the reporters are like "we're going to respect the medical privacy of the players and not name who the positive tests are." But in a day or two, the team will have to put two guys on the IL with an announcement that's like "[Players' Names] placed on the 10 day IL with an unspecified viral illness."
