Though the Mariners will return home from Anaheim on Monday night at the conclusion of their series with the Angels, the club won’t open their next homestand until Thursday at the earliest after Major League Baseball postponed the first two games of their series against the A’s.
The Tuesday and Wednesday games at T-Mobile Park have been postponed “out of an abundance of caution” to allow for additional testing and contact tracing to be done after a member of the A’s organization tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
The A’s are currently in Houston and will remain there at least overnight on Monday. Oakland had its final game against the Astros postponed on Sunday after learning of the positive test on Saturday night.
