Re: White Sox fire Rick Renteria/TLR Hired (p.3)
I know this is off brand for the La Russa hate train, but Jose Abreu has gone on record saying he's excited to play for TLR, had a productive conversation with him, and told him he'd have his back. He also said he reached out to Albert Pujols who stated that he was, "a great manager, an outstanding person, and a manager that I'd like to play for."

They are saying this is merely procedural and the charges will be re-filed in the correct court.

Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports that the White Sox will hire Miguel Cairo to be their bench coach.
Cairo was most recently the minor league infield coordinator with the Yankees. He has some history with new White Sox manager Tony La Russa, having played parts of four seasons with the Cardinals when La Russa was the skipper there.

James Fegan of The Athletic reports that Tony La Russa has a change of plea hearing scheduled for Dec. 21 in his DUI case.
La Russa initially submitted a not guilty plea stemming from a February 24 arrest in the Phoenix area in which he allegedly crashed his car into a curb before showing a BAC of .095. As a result, a pre-trial conference was scheduled for Dec. 28, but apparently there's been a change of plans. The White Sox said they were aware of the DUI charge prior to hiring La Russa and he's reportedly not in danger of losing his job despite receiving heavy criticism.

Shelley Duncan has joined Tony La Russa's staff as analytics coordinator.
He was included in the full staff announcement on Tuesday. There's a clear connection here, as Duncan is the son of La Russa's longtime pitching coach, Dave Duncan. Since his playing days ended, Duncan has managed in the Diamondbacks' minor league system in addition to a stint as the Blue Jays' major league fielding coordinator. Howie Clark, previously slated to be the hitting coach in Triple-A, is also joining La Russa's staff as assistant hitting coach.
