Don’t bury my post until we have starters good enough to make playoff run ... we dont
Where does one exactly find a Studd starter?

well there was plenty in the off season , since you asked , they can trade for one at some point, you are probs one of the ones that think this team can actually win a world series with this roster, and you would be very wrong .

I mean, we won a world series with our 2006 roster. So Taguchi and Aaron Miles started a combined 269 games with an OPS+ of 76. Anthony Reyes and Jeff Weaver were prominent parts of the rotation along with Jason Marquis, who threw damn near 200 innings with an ERA over 6.00.

Is it likely we win a WS with this roster? Nah. But we're also 3 games in and waiting on 2/5 of the rotation to return.

When the fanbase is gaslit over a decade with Mo's cost-saving approach to building a roster that relies on positive ends of the variance spectrum, you're going to get more and more people defending the process pointing at fake success as a reason such approach is OK. Or the high you get from the day they got Arenado that Mo is a genius that needs to be stroked endlessly forgetting that he let Ozuna and Wong go for pennies.

Each year we get more and more defense of the roster management. It sucks to see. Oh there were injuries? Wow it's almost like we have a GM who didn't calculate risks properly. He's already on record admitting the trade for Arozarena was "bad" and he's still somehow a "genius" to a lot of fans.

I think he's one of the worst GMs/Team prez/whatevers in the league lmao.

Who specifically is included in the "plenty" of off season pitchers who were available?

What Studd pitcher is available in a trade, and who are you willing to trade for that guy?

Bauer, Morton, Ordorizzi, Minor, Paxton, Quintana were all available for just money.

Only Bauer qualifies as a Studd starter.

And complain to Dewitt if you don’t like the payroll.

Justin: Can we start panicking about the cardinals pitching yet or is it too early?

Ben Clemens: We can, but that’s because it was panic-worthy before the season even started
Ben Clemens: One start isn’t enough to change my opinion about any of the guys who have gone so far, but my opinion of Wainwright and Martinez was not particularly rosy in the first place
Ben Clemens: Those guys are weak as the 2-3 starters on a real baseball team
