Nice job by Ponce and Gant filling in through 1 start in the rotation.

Alcantara was dominant. Cards did a great job scratching out runs when given their opportunity.
Exactly this. Great win. No, the Marlins are not a great team, but they have very good starting pitching, and we are throwing our two long relievers back to back. I'm not sure on Mikolas' prospects this year, but Kim should be back perhaps by the weekend and is reportedly throwing well.

The 2 at bats I liked the most were Arenado's, when he battled to a full count and drew walk in the 6th, and then Yadi getting us the sac fly exactly when we needed it (runner on 3rd, 1 out, tie game). Really good baseball that inning.

Nice managing by Shildt last night. Last year, he let Webb pitch to righties in big spots, and got burned. Last night, he didn't let Webb pitch to Aguilar.
