Re: 2021 MLB Transactions
Braves acquired INF Orlando Arcia from the Brewers for RHPs Chad Sobotka and Patrick Weigel.
Arcia was a top prospect for the Brewers, but he never quite lived up to his potential with the club, slashing a modest .244/.293/.364 over 542 major league games. With Luis Urías taking the shortstop role, it made sense for Milwaukee to turn the page. Of course, the Braves have Dansby Swanson at shortstop, so the 26-year-old Arcia is strictly infield depth for his new club. Per David O'Brien of the Athletic, Arcia isn't expected to be ready to join the Braves for a few days as he goes through COVID-19 protocols.

Brewers acquired RHP Patrick Weigel from the Braves in the Orlando Arcia trade.
Weigel ranked No. 12 on the Braves' top-30 prospect list from MLB Pipeline, so the Brewers have to be satisfied here. The 26-year-old was a seventh-round pick of the Braves in 2015 and put up a quality 2.73 ERA and 71/41 K/BB ratio over 79 innings between Double- and Triple-A in 2019. He should be ready to contribute in the majors before long.

Seattle is where players go to die. I always liked Dee Gordon.

Re: 2021 MLB Transactions
The Angels have acquired right-handed reliever Hunter Strickland from the Rays for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
While he does seem to have a less-than-stellar reputation around baseball due to his erratic personality on and off the mound, it’s somewhat surprising to see Strickland moved by a competitive team for such a minimal return. Granted, that team is the Rays, who might as well have a 3D printer that develops elite relievers, but still, Strickland was off to a very strong start this season, posting a 1.69 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP, 16 strikeouts, and six walks in 16 innings. He’s flashed an mid-90s fastball and an effective slider this season, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see his success continue if his stuff stays strong.
The Angels surprisingly lost Ty Buttrey when he retired before the season, currently have Junior Guerra on the injured list, and have not gotten the same dominant level of success they did from Mike Mayers in 2020, so they could use a veteran right-handed option in the bullpen. Their relief corps have combined for a 5.32 ERA, fourth-worst in the majors this season.
