This a telling series , we have have a few issues , Padres a great team , and we can’t beat there b-team , I am
Concerned for October... lots of work to be done
I agree there are areas to address but I also think the Padres are trying to prove they can win with their players out right now. Everyone was talking about how handicapped they were but they are still putting out a solid team.
Also we’re coming off 17 games in 17 days and [expletive] happens.
It does . Losing sux

Matt Carpenter was the best Cardinals pitcher of the night.

At least when Carpenter is the pitcher and strikes out it's not as disappointing.

Eh. I get the sentiment, coming off beating bad/mediocre teams and finally going against a legit WS contender, you want to at least put up a better effort, but convincingly losing a series to a good team, on the road, is going to happen multiple times through the course of the season. I don't think it really means much in the grand scheme of things. Dodgers got swept by the Cubs last week, I don't think that's indicative of how they'll fare in the playoffs.
