Nothing demonstrates the difference between the Dodgers and Cardinals quite like the Dodgers last pitcher on their bench being someone who would probably be the Cardinals #3 starter.
I think Price's days as a starter are done, unless you're talking "bullpen game".
If you want him to get out lefty hitters in a relief role, that may work.

Also if you're color commentator is critical, Price will go full Diva. You can't put a price on the value of that.

The Eckersely and Papi things... this guy might have pretty thin skin.

Wasn’t Price defending E-Rod to some ridiculous Eck comments while on a plane? Not sure that’s sensitive more than just standing up for your dude to a goofy out of touch announcer.

Price has a sub-4 FIP. Not sure why people wouldn’t want him.

Changes are coming. Probably after today's day game.
Mo’s outstanding 2021-2022 off-season pitching acquisitions:

VerHagen 5.19 ERA
Naughton 5.54 ERA
Matz 6.03 ERA
Wittgren 6.04 ERA
Brooks 7.71 ERA
McFarland 8.18 ERA

Whew. That's pretty rough.

The Cardinals need a good-to-great reliever in the worst way. Probably going to have to be patient and muddle through this until teams will start making trades.

If Jennifer Aniston could muddle through "Muddle Through," anything is possible.

We’re muddling through July. Decent pitcher obtained at the deadline at the cost of a prospect that’ll sting.

Until then, it’s Pallante/Liberatore and a prayer Matz is back.

We’ll get Matz back right before the deadline and since Mo considers getting a player back from the IL the same as trading for someone, he won’t make any moves, then Matz will re-aggrivate his shoulder or Flaherty will have another setback and we’ll be right back where we started.

They almost always make a deadline move. It'll just be for a lesser pitcher. If Montas is really on the table. Or a good pitcher from the Tigers/Royals/DBacks/bad teams. It'll cost a prospect in the top 15 range we won't like leaving.

What I DON'T want: Madison Bumgarner contract dump type move. God no. Please.

If David Price didn't play in the NL on a contender, he's who I'd go after in that cheapo Mo sense.

Possible deadline targets (guys with contracts expiring on non contenders):

Lorenzen
Pineda
Martin Perez
Davies
Keuchel (hasn't been good, but could be had cheaply)
Chacin (hasn't been good, but could be had cheaply)
Syndergaard (looked good his last outing!, would be cool in Cardinal red for a stretch run IMO)
