The 2007 reference did make me have to remember Kip Wells. Now *that* was a bad offseason - when the marquis signings were Kip Wells and Adam Kennedy.

2003 was a bad rotation too. Woody Williams and Matt Morris were solid, but everyone else was dog turds.

All of the staffs mentioned were really bad, but at least had guys who finished with an ERA+ >100. Out of the guys starting right now (minus Kim's return), I think Wainwright would be the only one I would give a >25% chance of breaking 100 over a full season.

Even the principles were unenthusiastic. This pic said it all about what was to transpire. Walt looks like "No, not my best is it?"

And that bullpen (outside of Izzy) was horrific too. A real shame, since that was the best lineup we possibly had - despite featuring Tino, Matheny, and over 300 PA's from Bo Hart.

Looking back, I don’t know how we managed to win a WS with that 2006 team. The Tigers really gave that one away.

this might be the worst rotation the Cardinals have had since the mid-90's.
1995 Starting Staff

Mark Petkovsek
Allan Watson
Donovan Osborne
Ken Hill
Mike Morgan
And...FA bust Danny Jackson

Let's really hear it for possible the worst Cardinal starting staff EVERRRRRR!

Somehow Tom Henke managed to get 36 saves.
Ha! I was 13 in 1995 and the only guy I can remember from that rotation is Donovan Osborne, and that's only because he hit a grand slam that one time and me and my friend went nuts running all over the house in celebration.
I was at that game with my dad and a friend when I was 10. We had nosebleed seats, but went to the field to get autographs. Nobody ever kicked us out so we ended up sitting in the green seats maybe three rows from the field.
Oh man, what a great memory. That's awesome.

1994 was worse somehow (shortened season also).

Damn that 2007 starting rotation was awful too.
The Mike Maroth era!
