Of course, the bigger news is that Lane Thomas has been shipped out.

I think his OBP skills are real and would like to see him take over the lead off spot so we can get Edman out of there.

Shakeup to save face. Not sure what to expect from him.
People rail on Albert but he’s made Sosa and Edman respectable hitters they weren’t supposed to be at MLB level so maybe Nootbar will get some plus production too. Even if it’s short lived, it’d be nice.

Edman being leadoff is one of the stupidest things this team does outside of its awful pen management.InvincibleCakeEater wrote: ↑June 22 21, 11:10 amI think his OBP skills are real and would like to see him take over the lead off spot so we can get Edman out of there.

Re: Lars Nootbaar called up
Not sure about that. Sosa got a look this year because he ran out of options. And if I'm the StL FO, I'm extremely wary of letting another guy that we drafted as more than a 'project' player walk out the door because we could'nt unlock the talent in a timely fashion. Edman in 2018/19(AA, AAA) was nearing a call-up, but current construction of the roster never let that happen. But his presence was being touted during his spring invites in those years(Edmonds, Oquendo, etc.). So he was headed towards promotion while still under the guidance of whomever the hitting coach was/is down there. Was Budda down there then?Big Amoco Sign wrote: ↑June 22 21, 11:15 amShakeup to save face. Not sure what to expect from him.
