The big change is that, for the first time in this event’s history, the All-Stars will not be wearing their own team’s uniforms but, rather, an All-Star Game-specific uniform. The jerseys feature the player’s team logo and city abbreviation on the left chest and the Nike swoosh on the right, with an American flag on the left sleeve and the All-Star logo on the right. The caps feature the player’s team logo against the backdrop of a purple star.
I hate this.
Those are some gawd-awful uniforms.
The uniforms are horrid, even if they just used them for BP. But to take the players out of their team unis takes away another uniquely baseball tradition. Not all traditions deserve preservation, but seeing the replays of prior games, like Reggie’s shot in his sleeveless Kelly green A’s garb Detroit 50 years ago, is timeless.
It sucks, you can call me a cranky old boomer or whatever, I don’t care. Horrible idea. I hope it’s a one-year aberration.

It's as if they were trying to come up with an ugly uni. If so, they did a great job.
