The St. Louis Cardinals are 35-32 at home this season and the Los Angeles Dodgers are 41-28 on the road this season. This is a close match-up with both teams having a 45 to 55 percent chance of winning based on 10,000 game simulations generated one play at a time by the AccuScore Simulation Supercomputer. Cardinals\' starter Adam Wainwright is forecasted to have a better game than Dodgers\' starter Mitch White. Adam Wainwright has a 46% chance of having a Quality Start (QS) while Mitch White has a 39% chance of a QS. If Adam Wainwright has a quality start the Cardinals has a 64% chance of winning. His simulated strikeout to walk ratio is 3.4 and he has a 26% chance of having a 5 to 1 K/BB ratio. When he has a 5/1 ratio the Cardinals win 55%. In Mitch White quality starts the Dodgers win 66%. He has a 24% chance of having a 5 to 1 K/BB ratio and if he does his team wins 66% of simulations. In simulations we tracked the batter for each team that was most productive based his average hits, walks and RBI per simulation. The most productive batter for the St. Louis Cardinals is Paul Goldschmidt who averaged 2.21 hits+walks+RBI. He has a 36% chance of having a big game with 3+ Hits, Walks, RBI and if he has a big game the Cardinals have a 59% chance of winning. The most productive batter for the Los Angeles Dodgers is Mookie Betts who averaged 2.17 hits+walks+RBI. He has a 36% chance of having a big game with 3+ Hits, Walks, RBI and if he has a big game the Dodgers have a 66% chance of winning.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reports that Tony Gonsolin (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the injured list on Thursday.
The 27-year-old tossed 2 1/3 innings in a rehab game on Monday and threw a successful bullpen session on Tuesday. Gonsolin has been sidelined since the end of July with right shoulder inflammation and will return to a 2.78 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 35 2/3 innings. The right-hander is expected to see multiple innings in Thursday's game versus the Cardinals while Julio Urias is moved back to Friday.
