This is the baseball equivalent of manufacturing consent.

Bad news. Adding another arm would probably be a wise thing to do. JA Happ resigning imminent.
Obviously Goold reads GRB.

It occurred to me this morning that discovering at the opening of camp that your players are hurt and didn't get the right treatment over the offseason is a quiet cost (to both the owners and players) of the lockout. Who knows if it would've been different, but imagine if Reyes and Flaherty had access to the team's facilities, trainers, and doctors during the offseason.

At a minimum, we wouldn't be surprised today that neither is ready to pitch and may not be for a long time, and the front office could have pursued a different strategy once free agency opened back up.

It wouldn’t be a Cardinals season without at least one of our starting pitchers being out before the season starts.

Based on the club's recent signings, the Cardinals have preemptively begun their June 2021 "pitching churn" strategy of rotational and bullpen back-fill.

Maybe Oviedo will get his first major-league win after umpteen tries.

I love watching him walk 6 batters before being pulled in the third inning.

The A's are actively shopping Manea and Montas right now. I will be unsurprised when we don't land either.

I think the Cardinals are actively engaged with Mike Lincoln's agent. Press conference scheduled for 4pm central.
