Some points about Gorman before everyone's hot takes roll in after a potential 2-3 K night at the plate:

-He always has a slow adjustment period every time he's "graduated" a level. So I expect some of that here in MLB. He should be rockin' to full top prospect status by next season.

-"He's just another O'Neill" this is unfair to both players. O'Neill didn't come up until he was basically 24 years old (turned 24 the year he came up mid season). Gorman just turned 22 years old 10 days ago. They have similar plate issues but Gorman has adjusted quicker. He's also lefty, I think this will help him a lot.

-You take the min-maxing of 3 true outcome all day at second base. This is a position where only what, two players tops have serious power and slugging ability? I will be welcoming it at a position where the most WAR from the position was Wong with 14.7 and that was his lifetime as a Cardinal. Vina only got 6.7 his entire stay. Gorman has 3-6 per year potential if his defense can be solid.
You forgot to mention the Lowe comp.

Just saw this and I can't stop watching it. Seems dumb on the one hand, but also cool.

I think that's a ceiling but maybe it's dead on too. Lowe is up and down and that could be what we see from Gorman in the bigs. My bad for repeating myself.

So assuming Gorman can stick at 2B defensively, how do we feel about Edman as everyday SS going forward?
+3 DRS at SS already in MLB. Strong arm. Good marks from scouts when he played tons of innings at SS in the minors.

I'm feeling good. Donovan, in short SSS, has not been good at SS, if you're a believer of OAA on any level. But still way too small of samples.

MLBN is not giving this the attention it deserves.

Flaherty to the 60 day IL is lost in all this.
Wait whaaaaaat? Wow. Starting to think he won’t pitch at all this year.
shouldn't change anything about him this year
Cardinals transferred RHP Jack Flaherty from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

It's just a procedural move that doesn't change Flaherty's timeline. What it does do is open a spot on the 40-man roster for Nolan Gorman, who was promoted from Triple-A Memphis on Friday. Flaherty is expected back at some point this summer, but there's no concrete ETA at this time.

That is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life…okay well maybe after the total eclipse a few years ago and the first time I ever saw a porno.
Looks like it might be one of those squeezable stress things. So maybe not dumb, but still cool.

Nice. We could be on the verge of a pretty great infield here.

If this was the top prospects of the Red Sox or Yankees getting called up they wouldn't shut up about it.
