On the bright side, the Cubs lost twice.

And the Brewers are using up the easy part of their schedule while the Cardinals are going through some of the tougher teams we have to face.
Before the All-Star break the Cardinals just have to face these teams over .500:
2 Padres
4 Brewers
3 Dodgers
While the Brewers opponents over .500 before the All-Star break are:
4 Padres
3 Mets
4 Cardinals
3 Blue Jays
2 Rays
4 Giants

I was noticing that. In June, they've got 21 games against the Reds, Cubs, Pirates, Marlins, and Red Sox. June is moving month!JoeMcKim wrote: ↑May 31 22, 6:58 amAnd the Brewers are using up the easy part of their schedule while the Cardinals are going through some of the tougher teams we have to face.

But knock on wood, the Cardinals did lose 2 out of 3 to the O's. But that's a small sample size.Joe Shlabotnik wrote: ↑May 31 22, 7:14 amI was noticing that. I like what I see out of Packy. Kid throws strikes and could be a serviceable left handed reliever this season.

Baseball is a sport that I have little confidence in winning or losing based on who we play. It just doesn't seem to work out that way you expect. At least not to the extent that there's any level of confidence. In fact, during those amazing early 2000 years, the games I dreaded the most were up in Montral at Olympic stadium playing in front of a sparse crowd. Seems like we were always flat. Same with playing the Royals a number of year ago when they were horendous. I'll take games against good competive teams and like our chances better.

Oli said he was going to be using GG in a similar spot going forward. Was a bit unclear if this means Helsley is the new 9th inning guy. Will be interesting to monitor.
