His numbers in 2019 were good at A and high A then dropped when he got promoted to AA. But small sample size. His stats in the minors though are messed up since there were no minors in 2020. Maybe he went somewhere and learned something during that lost season.

It would be interesting to talk to some scouts about what impact the pandemic had on prospects (both in general and regarding specific prospects).

Yepez still has > .800 OPS career to date including minors so it’s possible those early years were just learning years. It’s much better that he’s been better lately. Promotions always take adjusting. Saw it with Gorman too.
