This trade has really seemed to take it's toll on the morale in the Brewer clubhouse. It'll be interesting to see what happens from here.

I hope they don't win the division but if they do, can my consolation prize being to put to bed the idea of clubhouse chemistry?Popeye_Card wrote: ↑August 5 22, 8:59 amThis trade has really seemed to take it's toll on the morale in the Brewer clubhouse. A little win streak will quickly right the ship I am sure. But in a close divisional race, getting swept by the Pirates with the bullpen performing terribly - if the Brewers miss the playoffs by a game or two I think we’ll be looking back at this week.

Brewers trade All-Star closer to get slightly worse but slightly more sustainable: "Hmm, yes, I see it"
Padres trade for Soto: "Makes no sense"

Could I get a source for these quotes? I'm not sure what you are trying to say.MrCrowesGarden wrote: ↑August 5 22, 9:28 amBrewers trade All-Star closer to get slightly worse but slightly more sustainable: "Hmm, yes, I see it"

put it to bed? You mean realize its a thing? All human beings are subjective. It's a fact that people will perform differently depending on how they feel about themselves and their surroundings. I hope you aren't saying pro baseball players somehow automagically lose their humanity and become automatons.vinsanity wrote: ↑August 5 22, 9:06 amI hope they don't win the division but if they do, can my consolation prize being to put to bed the idea of clubhouse chemistry?Popeye_Card wrote: ↑August 5 22, 8:59 amThis trade has really seemed to take it's toll on the morale in the Brewer clubhouse. Ok. I don’t think a single person has insinuated that the Padres trading for Soto made no sense though.

Oh? (I know this wasn't you or your thoughts, but they are out there.)Popeye_Card wrote: ↑August 5 22, 10:07 amOk. I don’t think a single person has insinuated that the Padres trading for Soto made no sense though.
Also the Padres have had to cap season ticket sales for next year because fans are so excited. It's a pretty easy to understand business model.

Re: Josh Hader traded to the Padres
What I think that exec is saying is even with all the Padres' winning, they don't believe the average baseball fan is or will be willing to pay all that winning. Season ticket sale volume is fine, but that price will have to soar to pay for what is on the field, and eventually they won't be able to raise it any further. Are they saying their business model doesn't make sense because its insolvent or because its not maximizing profit? idk.
