The St. Louis Cardinals are 29-20 at home this season and are solid favorites to beat the Chicago Cubs who are 21-27 on the road this season. The Cardinals have a better than 55% chance of winning based on 10,000 game simulations generated one play at a time by the AccuScore Simulation Supercomputer. Cardinals\' starter Adam Wainwright is forecasted to have a better game than Cubs\' starter Keegan Thompson. Adam Wainwright has a 53% chance of having a Quality Start (QS) while Keegan Thompson has a 35% chance of a QS. If Adam Wainwright has a quality start the Cardinals has a 80% chance of winning. His simulated strikeout to walk ratio is 2.9 and he has a 19% chance of having a 5 to 1 K/BB ratio. When he has a 5/1 ratio the Cardinals win 67%. In Keegan Thompson quality starts the Cubs win 62%. He has a 17% chance of having a 5 to 1 K/BB ratio and if he does his team wins 62% of simulations. In simulations we tracked the batter for each team that was most productive based his average hits, walks and RBI per simulation. The most productive batter for the St. Louis Cardinals is Paul Goldschmidt who averaged 2.99 hits+walks+RBI. He has a 55% chance of having a big game with 3+ Hits, Walks, RBI and if he has a big game the Cardinals have a 74% chance of winning. The most productive batter for the Chicago Cubs is Seiya Suzuki who averaged 2.21 hits+walks+RBI. He has a 37% chance of having a big game with 3+ Hits, Walks, RBI and if he has a big game the Cubs have a 51% chance of winning.

1. Dylan Carlson (S) ~ CF
2. Nolan Gorman (L) ~ DH
3. Paul Goldschmidt (R) ~ 1B
4. Nolan Arenado (R) ~ 3B
5. Paul DeJong (R) ~ SS
6. Lars Nootbaar (L) ~ RF
7. Corey Dickerson (L) ~ LF
8. Yadier Molina (R) ~ C
9. Tommy Edman (S) ~ 2B
We’ve got DeJong in the 5th spot, so we’ve got that going for us…which is nice
