Quintana starts in the playoffs. Period.

Brewers games are all at home.
Phillies are all on the road.

This is where I'm at. I rather not lose a round vs somebody that we had a chance to bury. Lose to PA, okay; they've spent a ton of money on every facet of their team. Lose to SD, meh; as long as Soto isnt a factor, and again, they've done a lot to better their team in the face of an increasingly hostile NL West. Lose to Mil... no table in my home or at my work will be safe from my rampage.

I hope they keep Quintana around next season.
I'd rather play someone other than Milwaukee in a three game series just based on the starting pitching you have to face.

same, he'd *only* be 34 next year (seems like he's been in the league forever). he only cost 2 million this year, maybe could grab him for a bit more for 1 more year, maybe 2. might help keep dak out of the rotation...

Phillies starting pitching is equal imo but their bullpen is worse but their lineup is way better.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑September 29 22, 9:35 amI hope they keep Quintana around next season.

Bullpen is definitely a big factor. I think our lineup matches up pretty well against theirs.Magneto2.0 wrote: ↑September 29 22, 9:45 amPhillies starting pitching is equal imo but their bullpen is worse but their lineup is way better.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑September 29 22, 9:35 amI hope they keep Quintana around next season.

I’m planning on the Brewers but would prefer the Phils.

Waino shouldn't be a lock to start, but he will be. Mikolas is probably a lock. That puts the Game 3 starter between Monty and Quintana. Based on the way they've been pitching the last couple weeks, I'd go Quintana. Depending on how many days rest you get before the NLDS round, Monty is still a perfectly fine Game 1 starter to keep everyone on full rest.
Even if he pitches well down the stretch, I think Flaherty has to be in the bullpen. Unless you have a better RHP matchup against a lineup, and you start him for 3-4 innings then bring in Quintana/Monty.
