Almost no athlete goes out on top. I'm certain he'll try next year, I just hope the Cardinals don't mess up his exit.

If he doesn’t pitch well in the playoffs I could see it, but I hope not. Would love to see him get above 200w. That might be enough for the HOF.

Heck I’d love to see Albert come back and pass Ruth.

I’d mostly love to see a World Series winner, even if that meant they all hung them up.

If this dead arm thing doesn't shake off he might say hell with it

Pujols and Waino will both be turning down millions to retire. Neither is done done like Yadi.

Pujols and Waino both have so much money in the bank playing for more money would be pointless, its all just money they're never going to spend. Money definitely shouldn't be a motivating factor for either of them. Pujols retiring now is the absolute best storybook exit for him. Albert returning next year can only be a let down to him retiring now.

To the "he should just retire" camp, you'll be wishing he didn't retire when 3/5 of the starting staff is out with injuries in May.

The retirement meter is tipping slightly over to the right now. Which is the side where "RETIREMENT" is written in blood.
