It looks like the bat was banned for safety not because it gives an advantage. Basically they shatter easier and leave large shards of wood

It’s just hard to believe anything with the Astros. Like, that might be why the league outlawed the bats, and Maldonado wanted to use the bat because it has a bigger barrel. Both can be true.
