That was fun. Please get Ohtani in some meaningful MLB games.

Well done, baseball. Pretty cool all around.

Also: Ohtani hit .435/.606/.739 in the WBC, and also had a 1.86 ERA with 11 k's in 9 and 2/3 IP. Hard to argue he isn't the greatest player in baseball history.

This. Has to be greatest to ever play the game. And all of it seems to effortless to him too.

Praying to god Mo and DeWitt don’t just let Cohen take him next year in FA.

The HOF discussions around him could be interesting, depending on when he declines. First 2-way player to do both simultaneously at a high level for this length of time. How many more years of that to be a shoe-in?

I suppose it will depend a bit on whether the voters take Ohtani's NPL stats into account, which I think they should. Just like with Ichiro. Look at their careers as a whole, and marvel.

When he helps the Cardinals to four straight WS championships in 2024-2028, I'd say shoe-in.

Still needs 5 more years to get on the ballot. If he plays at the same level as the last 5, he'd have 50 WAR. Which is on the low side of average for HoFers. He'd be a shoe-in at that point IMO.
