Lose 24-1 to the astros

Flaherty; 3.2 IP, 6ER, 3BB, 1SO

Naughton; 0.2 IP, 5ER, 0SO

Thompson had a nice inning, so we got that going for us. Which is nice.

I still don’t have faith in flaherty

That doesn’t seem ideal.

Flaherty is riding high variance for three months to becoming absurdly rich.

He’s not good outside of those three months.

Good for him. Hope he gets bank. I know you’re not a fan of his personality but his personality is the absolute best kind to me lol. Chris Carpenter-esque to me. Very competitive and takes accountability. Listen to Wainwright talk about him sometime. Contrast that with someone like Liberatore or Hudson on the mound. I just wish he wasn’t seemingly playing hurt still.

For this season I’m worried about the shoulder. He’s dropping it a lot. He’s damn good when healthy and it’s silly to just say it’s because of variance. He got hurt. It’s that simple.

Hate that he swung a bat in 2021. If DH came a year sooner we might be seeing a much different pitcher. I mean just look at his before and after of the injury. Night and day. It bums me out that his shoulder is cooked because it turned him into Johan Oviedo.

An FA or possible mid season trade target should be his Harvard Westlake teammate Giolito.

Didn’t he hurt his oblique on the swing?

Didn’t the side tightness from that lead to the tear though? The strain happened right after coming back from that swinging injury. That’s how interpreted late 2021.

Maybe I’m wrong but either way he’s playing or was playing with a SLAP tear. And that 2021 injury was the before and after of his great/not great numbers. He was a very promising prospect who had pretty decent numbers in the minors and early majors career. Injuries suck.
