18.2 IP, 28 K : 5 BB, .143 BAA, 1.64 GB : FB ratio, 0.00 ERA

Mid-upper 90's fastball with a devastating curve.

What do you guys know about him? Looks like he may walk too many guys (based on his NCAA numbers)...

i watched one of his starts last year and he was stellar, to say the least. if the giants are as bad as they look right now (and every indication is that they aren't a good team) then I would think we'll see him sooner rather than later.

On another message board, someone noted that the Reds passed on Lincecum (as did 10 other teams).

Theoretically, had they drafted him, their summer '07 rotation could have consisted of:

Harang, Arroyo, Bailey, Lincecum, (whoever)...

Now granted, that's just in hindsight, but... wow... could you imagine that!?

How do you pronounce this guy's name? Lin-si-[expletive]?

I think part of this was that the Reds in recent memory have been notorious for taking the more signable player over the better one.

according to his baseballcube page, he was also drafted by the Cubs and Indians in the two years prior, but didn't sign.

One of the worries with him is his size. He's listed at 5-11, but that seems to be generous. As long as he can hold up, he maybe a righthanded Billy Wagner type. Alot of scouts think he may be a closer in his MLB career. He's a general consensus top 20 prospect.

He throws 91-96 and tops out at 98, and has a curve ball some say is the best of any drafted player since Kerry Wood. There are alot of noise in his delivery, command can and will probably be an issue with him.
