Reminds me of the time I ran into a couple of Giants minor league pitchers hiking the Grand Canyon in Oct of '85. They were the ones who told me about the Jack Clark homer to beat the Dodgers.
Fun stuff.
Fun stuff.

Ryan Jackson = better than Kozma. Kind of a shame he's still in the minors.
Greg Garcia is ok if you like watching a guy take a walk.

So those are the guys in State College that are legitimately paid for playing sports.

He's only listed as having stats in State College and at this point in the season probably will just finish out the season with that team. I would guess he goes to Quad Cities next season and with a good start maybe finishes the season at Palm Springs. So it'll probably be 2015 until he gets back to playing games in Springfield.417Cardinal wrote:Petree W 6IP 6H 1R 1ER 0BB 4K

Peoria, Quad Cities is now the Astros Midwest League affiliate. When the Cubs finally were able to acquire the Kane County Kougars, who actually are in the metro Chicago area, the Peoria Chiefs signed a four year deal with the Cardinals and the Astros affiliated with the Quad Cities. Still a great ball park at Modern Woodmen and maybe the Astros will draft better and better with Luhnow in charge.JoeMcKim wrote:He's only listed as having stats in State College and at this point in the season probably will just finish out the season with that team. Also the team that plays at Jupiter's Roger Dean Stadium is called the Palm Beach Cardinals of the high A Florida State League. They share Roger Dean Stadium with the Jupiter Hammerheads, affiliated with the Marlins. They share just as the Cardinals and Marlins share Roger Dean during spring training.

Yeah, I know that Peoria is the A Ball team for the Cardinals but I'm so used to Quad Cities being the team for multiple years sometimes I have a brain fart and forget they're no longer our affiliate.
