Avalanche should be a good series. They were pretty even during the season.

Avs are already a tough matchup with a full roster of healthy Dmen. If Krug is still out, it is going to be a really tough series.

Also going to be a good test of if Binnington is really back on his game or not.

Kyrou looked a little off last night. Little fumbles that he usually doesn't do, and passing just wasn't as good as I have seen.

I kept thinking to myself, thanks Dumba, because other than a goal, he looked almost drunk sometimes.

I am digging what the 'kids' are doing. Toropchenko and Perunovich. Rosen, I'm not sure about. And Kyrou and Thomas are still young to me.

I will also say, Minnesota fans here are dejected with a first round bounce to the Timberwolves and Wild, that both were fun teams. The Wild will be a thorn in the Blues for awhile it looks like.

Yeah, any team with Kaprisov and ANY sort of supporting cast is going to be formidable.

I get sick of hearing about him around here, but I do hold my breath when he has the puck. Anyways, Clark is then only person I will give the thrill nickname to. Except that troll thrill that hangs around here from time to time.

Agreed that Kyrou had a really poor game last night, and that Toropchenko was a beast. If they were handing out a game puck afterwards, he should have gotten it.

My biggest takeaway from this series is that Kaprizov is easily a top 5 forward in the NHL, and it sucks that he's in our division because he gives me a heart attack any time he gets the puck in the offensive zone.

Unfortunately for the Wild they have Kaprizov signed for 4 more years until UFA and for the next 3 years they have dead cap penalties of $12-$14 million per year (~15% of their cap) due to the Parise/Suter buyouts. They are going to have to get creative to build something competitive around Kaprizov since they don't have an elite prospect pool.

Yeah, stranger things have happened, but without Krug it's going to be tough to keep pace with the Avs. I think if the Blues are going to win they are really going to exploit the advantages they have in the bottom 6.

Binnington did play well, but I really think the credit should go to Berube. As soon as he went to 7 dmen (and moved to Binnington) the Blues team defense was stellar. They really limited the Wild to outside shots for the most part. It also helped that they had more than 5 defensemen for the final 2 periods in games 4-6.
