++ Plus two of those draft picks are kicked pretty far down the road, and will likely be later picks in those rounds if all goes according to plan.JCShutout wrote: ↑March 8 25, 8:23 amSaw someone on the hf boards post a nice recap of this year’s acquisitions.

Blues were clearly out of gas for the last period+ of the game tonight. It was a miracle we got a point out of it. Leddy and Hofer get all the credit tonight.

Re: Blues Off-season and 2024-25 Season
Other than the OTL coming out of the 4 nations, our only losses since have been in the second of b2b games. Not bad. Looks like we have two more b2b games (the next two weekends-Wild/Ducks and Hawks/Preds)
Big stretch of scoreboard watching this week. Everyone around us has 2-3 games in hand, but, with us off for 4 days, most of those teams all play multiple times. We should have a much better idea where we really are in a week.
I kinda scrolled back and forth on an app so I may have missed a game or two.
Van: Tied in points, 3 games in hand, and they play all three before we play our next, though by the end of the weekend we will have one game in hand again.
Cal: 1 point above us, 2 games in hand, and they play just one before we do, and another Friday. We weirdly gain a game in hand against them by the end of the weekend. Seems odd since we have a pretty packed schedule the rest of the way after this mini break. Looks like they play 2 more games than us in April, and have a busier week than us next week to make up ground. Unless they have a crazy run or fall off a cliff, we won’t really know how close we are to them until the end of the year.
Utah: 3 points behind us, 2 games in hand, and they play both before we do, and again Friday and Sunday. By the end of the weekend we will only have one game in hand.
In that stretch, Van plays Calgary and Utah, so that stinks since someone will get points.
Gut feeling is we probably need something like 26+ points out of the 34 left to have a shot at the wildcard. 13-4, even against mostly bad teams just seems unlikely. We play Col twice, Win and Edm once each, and would have to win the rest… and that might not even do it.
Even a run like 10-6-1 (a 101 point pace) only gets us to 90 points by game 82, and requires 500 hockey from everyone around us for us to sneak in.
I’m just going to enjoy watching the kids develop and hope it leads to next year’s playoff push.

Re: Blues Off-season and 2024-25 Season
Ok and the leafs finish off a big win against Calgary in regulation helps a lot.
As of this evening, we are two points ahead of the flames and nonames, with cal having 2 games in hand and Utah one game in hand. We are tied in points with Van but they have a game in hand. IIRC, wins are the first tie breaker, which gives us the advantage over all of those teams.
IF IF IF IF we beat the preds tomorrow AND Van in regulation Thur AND Cal loses to NYR (2nd night of a b2b) in regulation tomorrow AND Utah loses in regulation in Edm tomorrow, I think if I Maths correctly, we would then control our own destiny, and still have a pretty favorable schedule moving forward.
It’s not inconceivable for that all to happen (also Van plays Win tomorrow so that helps too). It’s crazy to think and say this, but the blues have a shot.
