Congrats to Liverpool fans if there are any at GRB.
And wow what a home field atmosphere and improbable W to reach the tournament final.

...and another amazing comeback today - congrats to Spurs fans.
Two great soccer games and one awesome hockey game in the last two days to distract from the recent lull in El Birdos' play.
And btw, as a longtime lurker I appreciate those with thousands of posts, and have no doubt we all have full lives - exciting in their own ways. (reference to something I just read in the baseball thread)

I'm never crazy about champs league finals with teams from the same country, even when it's El Clasico, but I'm glad we're going to get some fresh blood at the top. I'd love Spurs to win it because Liverpool have, what? 5 titles? 6? But I'm just glad it's not Madrid, Barca, Bayern, or Juve.

There is nothing worse than a soccer game where the road team is winning in the second half. They will do anything to not play soccer. They will roll from one goal box to the other in fake pain. Then the referree will let them back in the very moment they've miraculously recovered and they'll sprint on their previously snapped in half legs to roll from one goal box to the other in fake pain again.
I like soccer a lot. I love going to Timbers games. But goddam they need to do something about that. The fake pain and time wasting is insufferable. There are 2-3 egregious games a year where I'm like [expletive] this stupid sport.

The problem with women's soccer is the lack of miraculous medical recoveries. No one is very clearly never going to walk again, but then, through the power of soccer healed and sprinting moments later, hallelujah.Freed Roger wrote:This is cool
Seriously though, the women are (mostly) above the men's hot horseisht.

I hope to catch a bit of the WC. Women's soccer is great.

10 minutes or so until the USWNT makes their debut in the World Cup. I'm surprised there is almost zero interested here.
