Emmert shows up to visit Kevin and wish him well and makes sure to bring the media with him.

You are the biggest [expletive] douchebag on the planet Marc. [expletive] you.

So, does anyone even care about this:

Rutgers coach fired after abusive video broadcast

Or this:
Auburn football program allegedly committed a ton of violations under former coach Gene Chizek

In the quality management world, they talk about problems having a "common cause" or a "special cause". The media treats all these scandals like some one-off incident happened, and everyone is shocked and outraged...but they are slowly coming around to realize that these things are commonplace. When there is a "common cause" for a problem, the only way to get rid of it is to modify the system that created it, or you will see more of them occur.

NCAA bans hashtags.

On the one hand, good. I despise those stupid [expletive] things. On the other hand, the NCAA is stupid.

I didn't know this was being done, but it seems to make all the sense in the world. One problem with hashtags is everyone using different ones to follow a story, an event, whatever. But here the school has more or less set what they'd like it to be, and most everyone will know to use it. Unbelievably stupid policy.

I wonder if it has anything to do with sponsors or broadcasters not wanting their own hashtags ignored.

A women's golfer got caught using the university's water and hose to wash her car, and the university was given a penalty.

So, since the NCAA cracks down on stuff this small, the power football programs must all be clean, right?

But wait, bagel spreads are legal to give to student-athletes in the Big East now. Isn't this a slippery slope? What's next, mayonnaise?

Oregon gets no postseason ban. Chip Kelly gets an nfl job that doubled his salary to go along with his show-cause.
